We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our school as an Apprentice EYFS LSA to complete their LEVEL 3 EYFS QUALIFICATION WITH THE SCHOOL. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST HAVE A RECOGNISED EYFS LEVEL 2 QUALIFICATION AS PER THE DfE GUIDELINES TO BE ABLE TO APPLY.
The role is fixed term for the duration of the course – 21 months.
The successful applicant will be reliable and passionate about working with children and enjoy working as part of a team. The ability to form positive relationships with children, parents, carers and staff is essential.
Good communication skills and the ability to deliver exciting and engaging, child-focussed activities will also be required. Experience of administering basic first aid is also desirable but training will be provided for the successful candidate as a paediatric first aid qualification is required.
You will be completing the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification with Education & Skills Training and Development and you must be committed to complete this, a funding form will be required to be completed. You will be allocated off-the-job hours to complete CPD, training and shadow colleagues, and will have regular observations and feedback given. You must be able to accept feedback and willing to work on the areas given. You will need to have good IT skills as the learning modules and evidence are needed to be kept online. The course requires:
• Learners aged 16-18 must provide GCSE evidence of maths & English at grade 4 or above or be willing to complete Functional Skills.
• Learners aged 19+ must provide GCSE evidence English at grade C/4 or above or be willing to complete Functional Skills.
• Learners must be able to provide valid identification and evidence of their Right to Work (if applicable).
Main duties
• Assist the Nursery teacher in ensuring all pupils’ continuing educational development through establishing
constructive relationships and contributing to Individual Education/Behaviour Plans.
• Assist teachers in fostering attractive learning environments to ensure that pupils spend their school life in stimulating surroundings.
• Be willing to lead on different areas in the Nursery – eg certain areas of continuous provision as well as monitor and plan for their own key children.
• You will be leading parent key worker meetings and need to be a confident communicator
• Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet lesson plans/relevant
learning activity and assist pupils in use.
• To ensure accurate records and observations are kept so that pupils receive the maximum benefit from their education.
• Know the EYFS regulations, handbook and profile
• Be paediatric first aid trained and hold a food hygiene qualification – if not you must be prepared to undertake this training at the earliest opportunity
