Are you a grounded, empathetic professional who excels at building bridges? As a Behaviour and Engagement Intervention Officer, you are a catalyst for change. You will support our young learners who face significant barriers to engagement, building the foundational relationships that are the absolute key to their success. This is a role for those who possess high levels of emotional resilience, those who can stay calm under pressure and understand that every single morning is a fresh start.

Exceptional education at Welling is a team effort. We believe that to get the best out of our students, we must first invest in the energy and growth of our colleagues. We are a community that matches high expectations with a sincere dedication to our people. More than just a school, Welling is a place where professional standards and personal wellbeing go hand-in-hand every single day.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

*Active Support: Maintain a constant, calming presence around the school to uphold our high standards and provide immediate support to teaching staff.

*Targeted Intervention: Implement 1:1 and small group mentoring, focusing on social skills, anger management, and personalized behavioral targets.

*Restorative Practice: Resolve serious incidents through restorative justice techniques, aiming to reduce exclusions and keep students learning within their community.

*Collaborative Network: Work proactively with parents, carers, and external agencies to create a unified, supportive environment for every child.

*Continuous Growth: Participate in professional development, including our journey toward becoming a fully trauma-informed school.

    Who You Are
You are a tenacious, emotionally intelligent professional with:

*Professional Resilience: The ability to remain objective and composed during challenging interactions, ensuring a positive outcome for the student.

*An Unstinting Belief: A deep seated conviction that with the right support and intervention, every student can achieve exceptional things.

*Expertise in Engagement: Proven experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour, with the ability to foster warm, professional relationships.

*The Ability to Adapt: A resourceful problem solver who can work under pressure with tact and integrity.
