  • Birkbeck Primary School is seeking an ambitious, inspirational and highly skilled Assistant Head Teacher to join our committed team and play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of our school’s journey due to the successful promotion of the previous postholder to Deputy Head Teacher.     We Are Looking For an Assistant Head Teacher Who Will:
     
    Work in strategic partnership with the Head Teacher and the leadership team to drive cohesive, strategic and aligned leadership

    Your Impact Will Include:

    Ensuring every child in your class, year group, phase and the school makes progress as well as ensuring that they feel that they belong to our school community
    Driving high-quality teaching across all subjects and phases

    Shaping curriculum design and ensuring coherence and high standards

    Supporting school improvement priorities and long term strategy – having areas of responsibility where you can drive and sustain change to develop the school

    As a Deputy DSL, support the DSL in embedding a strong, vigilant and inclusive safeguarding culture, ensuring systems, policies and staff practice consistently protect pupils and support early identification of need.

  • Birkbeck Primary School is a large, three-form entry, family friendly school and nursery located in the heart of Sidcup in the London Borough of Bexley. We have a rich history within the local community; originally housed in the building now used by Doreen Bird College on Birkbeck Road, we have been proudly situated on our present site since the 1960s.

    We currently have 660 pupils on roll, offering a vibrant, diverse and ambitious learning environment.

    In December 2023, Ofsted rated us a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’, recognising the high quality of education that defines our school. We are also extremely proud of our excellent Key Stage Two results over the past three years — a testament to our high standards and strong curriculum.
