Your Opportunity:
We are seeking to appoint a caring and confident individual who is keen to work with children during their lunchtime meal break. Lunchtime is an important part of the school day and the midday supervisor’s role is key to its success. We are seeking an individual who understand how to manage pupils’ behaviour positively, are supportive and at the same time establish the highest expectations for behaviour, so that our safe, happy and secure environment is maintained.
Our lunchtime is from 11.55 am to 1.15 pm. The successful applicant will be supported by an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly team to:
• Ensure the health and safety of children at lunchtimes.
• Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children within the school.
Main responsibilities and tasks will include:
• Ensuring that the children are behaving appropriately in line with the school's behaviour
policy at all times.
• Engaging with the children and ensuring that they are active in purposeful and co-operative
behaviour throughout the lunchtime period.
• In cases of risk e.g. a spillage in the hall, informing the appropriate person and taking action.

• Ensuring that you are a strong, positive role model for the children and other staff.
This post is a customer-facing position and falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on English Language Requirement for Public Sector Workers. The school has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
