We are looking to appoint a caring, patient, supportive and confident person who is enthusiastic about working with children during their lunch time meal break. This is a crucial role in the life of our school. We are seeking a team player who shows initiative and understands how to manage pupils positively, in a way that makes them feel safe and secure, but which also expects and requires the highest standards of behaviour.
Main duties
● Help to organise children in the hall, classrooms, outside areas, encouraging good manners and supporting healthy eating
● Supervise, lead and support play activities.
● Encourage children who are reluctant to participate in lunchtime activities
● Promote independence and positive behaviour
● Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of, and responding appropriately to, individual needs
● Ensure the safety and welfare of all our pupils through the management of pupil behaviour at lunchtimes
● Deal with minor first aid needs
● Assist with associated duties (e.g., cleaning up spillages, cleaning tables and ensuring pupil hygiene)
● Follow school policy and procedures and show initiative
You will be expected to attend training courses to develop your role.
