About The Role

💡 Are you passionate about supporting children’s communication development? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our inclusive and nurturing primary school team.

Purpose of the Role:
The successful candidate will support pupils across the school with identified speech, language and communication needs. This includes providing direct SL therapy to individuals and groups of children across the whole school, assessment, intervention planning, and ongoing management of complex communication difficulties. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including the SENCo, AHT, teaching staff and our Occupational Therapist, to deliver a joined-up and impactful approach.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high quality SALT intervention to individuals and groups of children
● Assess and identify the speech and language needs of pupils
● Develop and deliver individual and group interventions
● Collaborate with teachers and support staff to embed communication strategies into the classroom
● Provide advice, training, and support for staff and families
● Contribute to annual reviews and multi-agency planning

We are looking for someone who:
● Holds a recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
● Is registered with the HCPC
● Has experience working with children in educational settings
● Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
● Is enthusiastic, organised, and committed to inclusive practice

This post is a customer-facing position and falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on English Language Requirement for Public Sector Workers. The school has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification.
